An awe inspiring tour to nine Amazing Temples

Destinations Covered : Tiruchirapalli (Trichy) - Kumbakonam (100kms - 2.5 hours drive)

Day 01 : Arrival at Tiruchirapalli (Trichy)

On your arrival at Tiruchirapalli Airport, you will be greeted by our representatives who will then assist you in hotel transfer and also the check in formalities. After having some rest we will be proceeding to Kumbakonam which is at a distance of 100 km from Trichy and it will take hardly 2 hours to reach there by road. From here our tour will start. Navagraha Temples are basically a cluster of nine temples which are dedicated to seven planets and the other two are dedicated to the Sun God and the Moon God. These temples are situated in different villages which are at a commutable distance. On day one we will visit Chandran Temple in Thingalur which is dedicated to Moon God, and then we will go to Alangudi to visit Guru Temple. Sukra temple and Sooriyan temple, dedicated to Sun God are situated in Kanjanoor. Dinner and overnight stay will be at hotel.

Day 02 : Kumbakonam - Thirunallar - Kumbakonam

At a distance of 90 km from Kumbakonam is Thirunagesharam, which will be our first destination on second day of Navagraha temples tour. We will start early after having our breakfast. The temple in Thirunagesharam is dedicated to Rahu and then there is Saneeshwarar temple at Thirunallar village which is dedicated to Saturn. Keezhaperumpallam village has Kethu temple and after visiting this temple, we will drive back to hotel at Kumbakonam. Dinner and overnight stay will be at hotel in Kumbakonam during Navagraha tour.

Day 03 : Kumbakonam - Vaithiswaran Koil - Kumbakonam

On the day third day we will start early for the remaining temples. We will first visit Vaithiswaran Koil which is a Sevvai Temple and then we will head towards Thiruvenkadu where there is Budhan temple. In each of these temples, planets are worshiped as gods. After this visit we will head back to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04 : Kumbakonam - Tiruchirapalli

On the last day of our tour we will go back to Trichy where our representative will assist you in checking out formalities and escort you to the airport from where you will board a flight for your next destination.

Vaitheeswaran Kovil (Angaraha Mars)

Lord Siva Temple The temple has five inscriptions mainly belonging to the period of Kulothunga Chola I (1070- 1120 CE). It is one of the nine Navagraha (nine planets) temples. Lord shiva represent as vaithiyanathantha swami Goddess-Thaiyal Nayagi Planet- Mars(Ankarakan) Benefits-Marriage dhosha nivaranam and cure the diseases of the body.

Thiruvenkadu (Budhan - Mercury)

From the inscriptions written on the temple walls, It is known that this temple received huge contributions from the Kings Aditya Chola and Rajaraja Chola. This shrine is celebrated for Budhan among the Navagrahas. Lord Shiva represent as Suredharanya swami Goddess- Brama vidyamikai Planet-Mercury (Budha). Benefits are to improve the knowlage and cure the disease of brain and nerves.

Keezhperumpallam (Kethu)

This temple is one of the Navagraha Temples where Lord Kethu is worshipped. Kethu is the symbol of knowledge and wisdom. Devotees throng this temple throughout the year to worship Lord Kethu. They offer multi colored clothes and cereals and pray to the God to protect them from the planetary transitions. In this temple, Lord Kethu is present in the form of Human body and serpent head. He will always make his devotees flourish once he transits into their zodiac sign. Though Lord Shiva is present here as the presiding deity.

Thirunallar Saneeswaran Temple (Sani -Saturn)

This temple was built by chola kings in 12th century AD.Lord shiva represent as Easwaran GoddessHPranambiga Benefits- Nalla Theertham Reduce the sorrows.Thirunallar Saneeswaran Temple is dedicated to Lord Sani (Saturn), Temple is very famous for various poojas and for different rituals. The Temple is opened from morning to evening. Special poojas will be performed especially on Saturdays. Devotees visit the temple to overcome their bad and evil problems.

Alangudi (Guru - Jupiter)

Apatsahayesvarar Temple, Alangudi or Guru Sthalam or Tiru Irum Poolai is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva located in the village of Alangudi in the Valangaiman taluk of Tiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Abathsahayeswarar Temple is built in a Dravidian style of architecture and has a five-tiered Rajagopuram with two precincts. Lord Shiva represent as Abath Sahayan Goddess Elavar Kuzhali Planet- (Guru - Jupiter) Benefits- For Marriage.

Thingalur Kailasanathar Temple (Chandran - Moon)

Temple Gopuram is of 5 Storied, believed to be constructed by chola kings during 10th and 12th century A.D. Thirunageswaram Temple (Raghu)

The temple is another masterpiece which exhibits the Chola style of architecture. It is believed to have been built by Aditya Chola I in the 10th century A.D. Lord Shiva Naganantha swamy Goddess Pirai Ani Amman Important-Milk Abishegam.

Surianar Kovil (Surya – Sun)

This Temple was built during the reign of Chola King Kulothunga between 1060AD-1118 AD and renovated by vijayanagara Kings. Lord Vinayagan- Kol vinai theertha Vinayagan Important-Dharshan of all Planets and worship Ganapathi First and final.

Kanchanur Temple (Sukran –I Venus)

Agneeswarar Temple was believed to be built by the Chola dynasties and was later contributed mostly by the Vijayanagar Kings. Agneeswarar Temple is built in a Dravidian style of architecture and has a five-tiered Rajagopuram (temple tower) with two precincts.
